Creatively inspiring, creative women.
What started in 2003 as an annual book and exhibition series in Sydney Australia has now grown to become quite a hit around the globe indeed.
Collaborating with women from design capitals including Paris, London, LA, NYC, Melbourne, Toronto and Tokyo – and from countries as far afield as Ecuador, Mexico, Moscow, Serbia, Brazil, Indonesia, Norway, Malta and Israel among many others, CURVY is a platform where the latest generation of female creative talent can shine.
Our Background
International fave amongst lovers of art and supporters of female artists, CURVY began as an annual book and exhibition series presenting a selection of the most exciting female graphic artists and illustrators in the world.
Each year, 100 next-generation, established and underground female artists are featured in the book from over 40 countries worldwide.
The book continues to be a best-selling publication and cult hit around the globe. Each edition builds on the exciting momentum of previous years and introduces the next wave of female talent set to break boundaries.
To date over 650 female artists have been showcased through the CURVY books. The latest group of artists in the series has been handpicked out of nearly 2,000 submissions and follows on in the footsteps of previous featured artists such as French street-art heroine Fafi and the ethereal Audrey Kawasaki among many others.
Our Latest Issue
The current edition of CURVY, the seventh in the annual series, is bolder than ever thanks to the input of its guest collaborators Toulouse born Fafi, renown for her mischievous graffiti art, together with founder of cult store Colette Paris, Sarah. The issue also boasts art direction by Perth born, NYC dwelling Deanne Cheuk.
More than 80 female artists and illustrators are showcased including motionographer Irina Dakeva, painter Sylvia Ji, photographer Angela Boatwright and illustrator/blogger Garance Doré.
And Now… the Guys Get Up!
After close to a decade of uncovering the world’s most creative female artists, we are thrilled to unveil MUSCLE UP – our new limited edition collectible art book showing off the creative talents of the world’s most impressive guys in the visual arts.
Curated by art-world impresario Jeremyville and with creative direction by David Mardon and Jason Renel of The Shop, finally the world’s most creative guys will get the chance to show the CURVY girls what they’re made of.
30 of the most daring guys in visual arts are on show. The roster features men of all shapes and sizes whose collective works subverts the prevailing art world patriarchy. It ain’t a man’s world anymore, and these men represent that change. They’re artists who thumb their nose at convention, and – no matter how established their careers, or how internationally renowned their work – they are artists who refuse to grow up.
Defiant and rebel-rousing, these creators playfully cross boundaries between graphic design, fine art, graffiti, film, product design, fashion, fiction, and heaps more.
